Building A Legacy for Harambee Youth

With the new 2019-20 school year underway, our staff is more crystallized than ever on the exciting direction God is leading our ministry.

Thanks to two days of intensive off site annual planning with a certified EOS implementer (Entrepreneurial Operating System), our leadership team has come up with next year’s goals en route to achieving our Ten Year Target, affectionately referred to as The Fantastic 50. By 2025, our goal is to see 50 Harambee alumni pursuing college or career and involved in discipleship in the local church.

The momentum of our annual planning culminated in the opportunity a number of staff had to travel to Chicago to attend the Legacy Disciple Conference. Legacy exists to help spread the Gospel through personal discipleship and church planting in inner cities around America. General sessions focused on what devotion to the Gospel looks like in an urban context, and staff attended a wide variety of workshops ranging from creative teaching to “life on life” mentoring to biblical social justice.

It was a true blessing to fellowship with hundreds of Christians from inner city neighborhoods around the country, and our time in Chicago gave us an exciting vision for expanding our own legacy of inner city youth who overcome challenges and thrive in the body of Christ.
