IMPORTANT UPDATE - God did it!

Dear Friends of Harambee,
God has answered our prayers! An anonymous donor has agreed to give $1 million to Urban Concern. In response, Dwell Community Church’s elders have agreed to transfer ownership of our building at 1000 Bonham Avenue to Harambee Christian School. We are working with Dwell to complete the transfer.
We are deeply grateful to the donor whose extraordinary generosity made this possible, and to Dwell’s elders for working with us toward this resolution. We also want to thank each of you. Your prayers, your gifts, and the many stories you shared of how God has worked through Harambee carried us through these weeks.
What this means: Harambee will continue serving students and families in our home on Bonham Avenue for years to come. The more than $500,000 you have given toward securing and sustaining our building will now be applied towards a much-needed HVAC system replacement, and any new capital gifts will be applied to other substantial needs like our leaking roof and outdated lighting infrastructure.
We’re hopeful about what’s ahead for Harambee families, and we can’t wait to share more soon about how you can be part of it. After all, Harambee means ‘come together and move it forward,’ and that’s exactly what this new season will take.
Here’s to 30 more years in South Linden.
For His glory,

Alex Steinman, Executive Director, on behalf of the Harambee Board of Directors
